How to communicate well on Partly?

Communication is always a key to have a great experience when looking for help or working with someone.

Once the request for Tasker is accepted both Tasker and Poster are able to contact each other to discuss further details about the job. When both sides communicate clear and well, they’re on the same page and the completion of the job can go smoother.

After the job is complete leave a rating and review, we encourage you to leave a genuine review about your experience. This is great for Partly as it maintains transparency and builds trust in the community.

What should I do if someone isn't responding to my messages or calls?

Unfortunately, sometimes these things happen - but we’re here to help!

If your Tasker doesn't show up or they're not responding to your messages or calls, we recommend that you give them at least 0,5-1 hour to get back to you. If they’re still unresponsive let them know that you’ll be cancelling the job via SMS.

To cancel a job you will need to contact our support team at [email protected] or you can open the job card and click “Menu” button on top right corner (three dots) -> “Support”-> “Contact us”.

Ratings & Reviews

How does the rating system work?

At Partly, we use a two-way star rating system to help ensure the security and comfort of our community members. At the end of a job both Tasker and Poster are asked to rate each other on a scale of 1 to 5 stars, 5 being the best.

Anything less than a 4 or 5 means that the user was less than satisfactory, and we would like to know why.

We understand that sometimes people are rated poorly who might not deserve it. If so, please contact us at [email protected].

How do reviews work?

Reviews help people trust in our community by creating an easy, honest and reliable way for users to know what to expect from each other.

Whether you’ve posted a job, or you’ve completed one, leaving your honest and fair feedback about how it went gives more clarity to other users.

Reviews must follow our Review Guidelines. If a review has been found to breach these guidelines, it will be removed.

We can only remove reviews if they breach our guidelines, or if the author has requested for removal. Once a review has been removed for either reason, you will be unable to leave a new review. To request a removal of specific review please contact us via “Support” -> “Contact us” or at [email protected]

How do I leave a rating and review?

Ratings and reviews provide a great reference for the rest of the community and are essential to building trust and transparency on Partly.

Once the job is finished, it’s essential to leave an honest and fair review of your experiences. If everything went well, say so and highlight why you would work with this person again! If it didn’t go as planned, leave detailed and constructive feedback.

To leave a rating and review once the job is finished follow these steps:

1. Log in to your Partly account.

2. Go to “My Jobs”.

3. Select a job

4. Choose a star rating and write your review

5. Once done, click on “Confirm”.

Note: All reviews should follow Partly’s Review Guidelines. We won’t moderate or change any of user reviews, however we will delete a review if it violates our guidelines.

Can I change my review?

As ratings are the key to building trust and transparency on Partly there's no option to edit a review once it's published.

If you've written a review and changed your mind later, you can create a request for us to remove it. To request a removal of specific review please contact us via “Support” -> “Contact us” or at [email protected].

What are the Partly Review Guidelines?

Trust is important to the Partly community. Honest and fair reviews help us and the community itself to make better informed decisions.

Partly doesn’t moderate or change user reviews, however, we do reserve the right to delete reviews if they violate our Review Guidelines.

The following is not supported:

1. Reviews that don’t represent a member’s genuine experience in relation to the job.

2. Reviews unrelated to the job such as race, religion or politics.

3. Reviews that promote illegal or harmful behavior or content that is discriminatory, threatening or obscene.

4. Content that violates another person’s entity and privacy rights such as publishing identity information without permission.

Understanding payments

How payments on Partly works?

Partly use third party payment system that ensures payment protection for Taskers and a seamless, secure way to get local tasks/jobs completed for Posters.

The steps below outline the payment flow within Partly:

1. A job is posted by the Poster.

2. The Poster receives applications from Taskers who are willing to complete the job.

3. Poster can choose a Tasker from the ones that have applied for his/her job.

4. When Poster has chosen Tasker, then Tasker still need to do a final confirmation and after he confirms job, communication is being enabled between them.

5. When Tasker completes the job and enter hours worked on job, then funds are securely held within an escrow account until the Poster is satisfied that the job is complete.

6. The Poster approves job and releases the funds and the Tasker receives payment into their verified bank account on weekly basis.

7. Make sure your details are up to date for seamless transactions, by checking your payment settings under “Payment and Payouts”.

8. With Partly payments, both Posters and Taskers can be confident that the money has been committed to the job, and that it will only be released when both sides are happy that the job is complete.

How do I manage my payment settings?

You’ll need to have valid payment details on your account to assign your job. Once assigned, payment is debited from your card and held securely in Partly until you are satisfied with the job. When job is confirmed by you, only then payment is released.

You can view, add and update your payment information through the steps below:

1. Log in to your account

2. Select Payments & Payouts

3. Under the Payment method you’ll be able to add your bank card.

Note: If you’re trying to add a valid card with sufficient funds, and it’s not being accepted, the first step is to review the card details to double check they’re correct. You can do this by logging in to your account, selecting Payment Methods and looking at the following:

  • The card number, expiry and CVC are all correct
  • There are no spaces before or after any of the numbers
  • Make sure that if your card is new, it has to be activated and registered/enabled for Internet shopping.

If all of those details are correct and you’re still having issues, you can try using another card and see if it will work.

If that still it doesn’t do the trick, contact us via support or at [email protected].

Can I set my own budget for a job?

Currently, you're not able to do that. But later on, we are planning to introduce some categories that will allow you to put your own budget, so please be part of our community to see latest product updates.

What payment methods can I use?

Partly supports online payments through third party payment service provider. You can use Visa or Mastercard credit/debit cards through this system.

How do I pay my Tasker?

When the Tasker has completed the job, they will request payment from you. You will receive a notification with a request to confirm the job. If the job has been completed and you’re satisfied, click the green “Confirm” button.

If for some reason you are not satisfied, then you can click on “Not satisfied?”, Which will lead you to dispute form, where you will be able to describe the reason of dissatisfaction.

How long does a refund take?

Once the payment has been returned to your payment method, it will arrive back in your account in a 2-5 business days. Though, this timeframe is dependent on processing times between our payment provider and your bank.

How do I get an invoice?

Since Taskers are independent contractors and/or employed by partner organization, then you’ll have to request a tax invoice from them. As the provider of the service, they should be able to get you one.

Nevertheless, you will receive an overview of job and costs related to your job to your e-mail.

Something went wrong?

I’m having trouble with my Tasker - what can I do?

Most jobs on Partly are completed without any complications, but sometimes getting job done isn’t simple. There are times when working with Taskers becomes more complex than expected. Disagreements can happen and go on to become disputes when Posters and Taskers expect different results on a job or if something doesn't go to plan.

If you’re having trouble with your Tasker, please try following the below tips. Partly has a free dispute service, but it’s best to try and resolve your differences first before we can assist you.

Communicate openly

A breakdown of communication between Taskers and Job Posters is often the main cause of disputes. To avoid this happening; try to go above and beyond when messaging or talking to your Tasker. Be as clear as you possibly can and always be respectful.

  • Be clear in your communication (don’t be afraid to double check starting date/time).
  • Be aware of your tone during conversation.
  • Try to reply as quickly as you can to your Tasker’s messages and calls once you’ve assigned them to your job.
  • Be upfront with feedback – if you’re not happy with how the job is going, let them know as soon as you can. Don’t wait until they think they’ve finished before raising your concerns.
  • If the communication is becoming heated, please reach out to Partly Support if you’re unsure what to do next.
  • If something’s going wrong, genuine apologies really help to ease any tension and help you move forward.
  • Don’t be rude or disrespectful in your conversation (it only makes it worse).

Discuss payment

We understand that you want to pay for jobs that are completed to your needs. Taskers also want to be paid for the time and effort they’ve spent on the job. One benefit of using Partly is that the job payment is held securely within Partly. Payment is held until you’re satisfied the job is completed, and you have the power of releasing payment. If something doesn’t go to plan, you and the Tasker can then agree on hours worked.

  • Use Partly as a safe and secure way of payment.
  • Be respectful of the time, effort and expenses a Tasker has spent doing the job. Nobody wants to work for free and Partly supports Taskers getting paid fairly for the time and effort they have put into the job.
  • If you don’t want to release the full payment because the job wasn’t completed, let them know why. You can agree on zero or lower working hours. If you get stuck, contact Partly Support.
  • Make sure that you release payment once you're satisfied the job has been completed to your requirements.
  • Don’t pay for a job outside of Partly (e.g. cash or direct deposit). Partly won’t be able to help you if something goes wrong.
  • Don’t release the full payment from Partly if you’re not happy with the task. Once you’ve released payment, we can’t help you recover it.

If you’re not happy with the work

We understand that sometimes Taskers aren’t able to complete the job to the level of your expectations. If the Tasker has already spent time and effort on the job and you’re not satisfied with the outcome, let them know why. If you can, please give them another opportunity to do the job so that you can have the situation resolved as soon as possible.

  • Check your job description - did you write what you needed done clearly? Has the Tasker done what you described?
  • Provide feedback to the Tasker. Let them know why the work hasn't met your needs.
  • Be prepared to pay some amount if the job has started. If the Tasker has spent time and effort on the job, they will probably expect payment.
  • If you don't feel the full job payment is fair, propose a base fee payment amount instead (without hourly fee payment).
  • If payment has been released, please leave an honest review about your experience.
  • Don’t stress if you can’t resolve the situation directly with the Tasker. Partly has a free dispute service to help assist you if you can't come to an agreement.
  • Don’t communicate in a disrespectful way. If the communication becomes heated and you feel uncomfortable, please contact Partly Support via app or at [email protected].

We understand that getting into disagreements with your Tasker can be stressful. We hope these tips will help you come to an agreement quickly and easily. And just as a friendly reminder, please know that if a job has already started, an agreement has to be reached for the payment to be released.
If you don’t feel comfortable talking directly with the Tasker (because of a trust and / or safety concern), please let us know by contacting Partly support.

If you’ve already tried these tips and still haven’t come to a resolution, initiate dispute within 48 hours, please read through Partly dispute process here.

How does Partly dispute process works for Poster?

Partly provides a free dispute service for Posters and Taskers. This dispute process can help you negotiate and come to an agreement. The process has 3 stages;

Step 1 - Understand the job

  • Once the Dispute is received, the Support Team will conduct a number of checks on the job. These checks can include checking the job title, description, picture and more. This helps us to understand about what the job was.

Step 2 - Mediation with Partly Support

  • If you can’t come to an agreement with the Tasker, we will help you to communicate with them.
  • You and Tasker will need to fill out a form and give us all the details on what’s happened.
  • Support Team will review this information and might reach you if additional clarifications are needed.
  • Based on situation analysis we will try to reach an agreement for payment to be released.
Step 3 - Partly Support recommendation
  • If mediation process will finish without any agreement, then we will make a decision.
  • The decision will be impartial and based on the details you’ve shared.
  • A detailed reasoning for the decision will be provided.
  • If you don’t agree with the recommendation, you can take the matter to your local court of tribunal at your own cost.

We fully understand that being in a dispute can be a stressful experience. That’s why we’re here to help you and the Tasker to negotiate your own resolution as much as possible.

What should I do in the dispute process?

We understand that being in a dispute can be stressful. We know that you want to be paid fairly for your time and effort spent on a job. That’s why Partly offers a free dispute service to help Taskers and Posters.

Partly will help you by facilitating the communication between you and the Tasker. This is why you’re staying involved and working with us is really important to the dispute process.

Treating others with respect is absolutely essential on Partly. Inappropriate actions or behaviour during the dispute process isn't tolerated. For example, this could include:

  • Breaching any Community Guidelines.
  • Acting in a threatening or abusive way to Partly support or a Community member.
  • Stalling or uncooperative behaviour during the dispute process.

If you choose to act in this way, regardless of the origin of the dispute, the dispute process won't continue. The job payment may then be paid out to the Tasker.

We do this because common politeness, trust and productive behaviour are the foundations on which Partly was built. We’ve found that the best results come from mutual respect. So, let’s work together to make sure that your outcome is fair, equal and benefits everybody.

I posted a job. What are some safety tips I should follow?

We take your safety extremely seriously at Partly. We’re passionate about building a trusted community of members, while helping to create positive experiences for our Posters using the platform to get jobs done.

It’s important to remember that getting jobs done with Partly means you are transacting with another member on the platform. We recommend users always to keep the Community Guidelines in mind while interacting on the platform.

If you ever feel uncomfortable with another member at any time, you should let us know via support. Your concerns will be taken seriously and handled with confidentiality. If at any time you feel in danger you should always call emergency 112.

We have also put together a list of the steps you can take while you use Partly, to help you make informed choices and be aware of the measures and features in place to support you.

Below you will find safety tips for every step of the job process:

When you’ve posted a job

As your newly posted job will be publicly visible to the entire Partly Community, it’s important not to disclose any personal information on your job. For your safety and security, don’t post things like your last name, address, email, social media accounts or phone number in the job description or in any comments.

You can have private conversations after you have hired a Tasker.

Reviewing your Taskers

We also highly recommend looking through the profiles of Taskers who have applied for your job. Check out their reviews, ratings, jobs done and verification badge.

Don't be afraid to ask an interested Tasker if they have the experience or qualification necessary to do your job.

Before work begins

Don't be afraid to ask an interested Tasker if they have the experience or qualification necessary to do your job.

Don’t be shy to ask your Tasker to show some form of ID before commencing the job.

While the job is in progress

Don’t release payment to the Tasker until your job is fully completed and you are satisfied that all your requirements have been met. If you are ever in a situation where you are not satisfied with the job, try to work with the Tasker to sort it out first. If you can’t come to a resolution, you can always contact us for support and advice.

When the job is completed

If you're not available to check the work completed in person, feel free to confirm job later, as you have 48 h for a dispute or feel free to request photos of the work to be sent to you. If you need more time to assess the work, communicate this to the Tasker and let them know when to expect your confirmation of the job completion.

Once you've checked the work is fully complete and agree the job is done, it's time to pay your Tasker! Simply log into your account and click the green “Confirm” button. The funds will be released and sent directly to the Tasker's nominated bank account.

When the job is closed

Payment has been released and the job is done! Time to leave a review on your experience of the Tasker's service. Unsure what to say? You've got 14 days after the job has closed to submit your review. It's important for other members of the community to see your genuine feedback so they can also choose the best Tasker suited for their needs. If in doubt, take a look at the Review Guidelines and let us know if you need more help.

Insurance & Tax

When insurance is mentioned on Partly, for Posters it refers to third party liability insurance.

Third Party Liability Insurance

As a Poster, you have engaged a Tasker (an independent contractor or employee of partner company) to complete your job using the Partly platform. The Tasker is primarily responsible for the work that is carried out and therefore liable for consequences that result from their activities when performing the job.

Partly provide third party liability insurance only for the services which are provided by Taskers with the Premium hourly fee. This insurance only provides cover for a Tasker’s liability for property damage or injury arising from covered activities.

Partly is actively working to provide third party liability insurance for all services offered through the Partly platform.

What Job Activities does insurance apply to?

If the Tasker causes injury or property damage to a Poster or their property whilst performing covered activities, liability insurance arranged by Partly includes the third-party liability of the Tasker, subject (as always) to Insurer’s terms and conditions.

Tasks/Jobs must be completed and paid through the Partly platform to be eligible for the coverage subject to insurance terms and conditions. Any job paid through alternative means (including cash-in-hand) will not be covered.

Please also note that insurance only covers the Tasker performing a covered activity. If someone else shows up to perform the job or extra people are brought to assist with the job, this is in breach of the Community Guidelines and those individuals will not be covered by this Insurance unless they are also registered Partly members.

How can I submit a claim under Third Party Liability Insurance on Partly?

As a Poster, if you’ve suffered damage or personal injury due to the actions of a Tasker, we suggest that you take the following steps:

1. Communicate with the Tasker to attempt to resolve the alleged loss matter

2. If unable to resolve the matter, please contact Partly via support, and we will contact the Tasker/partner company.

3. You as a Poster probably will have to fill out an incident notification form to provide their version of the events. Insurance company might also ask you to provide photographs and formal receipts to substantiate your claim.

4. The claim form along with incident details will be forwarded to the Insurer's claims assessor.

Please note that the Insurer may collect information from all the parties involved to make a decision on whether the Tasker/partner company is liable for the loss and also to assess the value of the alleged loss. As with standard insurance processes, the claim may be denied if there isn’t enough evidence to validate a claim. Please keep supporting evidence of the incident and contact details of witnesses.

Does the service fee include taxes?

Yes. Service fee is calculated by including all the relevant taxes, which need to be paid by the Tasker (service provider).

How do I get a payment invoice?

After each completed job you will receive an invoice to your e-mail. You can also view it by clicking on the job card -> “Total costs”.

In case you need more detailed tax invoice, then you need to request it from service provider/Tasker. If service provider refuses to provide an invoice, please contact us to assist.
